Alaska Top Ten--Passenger.
Day 3 on the Alaska Railroad, near Chase, along the Susitna River. We ride the Aurora Winter Train, which goes north to Fairbanks on Saturday--our destination--and south to Anchorage on Sunday. A laborer on heads back home after 6 months on and 6 weeks off. He is also a prospector, with some mining claims in remote country. I find that Alaskans, though weathered by the climate and the solitude, take pride in their ability to thrive in that environment.
